2025-06-01 ~ 2025-06-02 , Seville

The International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA) is delighted to announce the High-Level Seville Colloquium on Resilient Water Solutions in the historic city of Seville, Spain. This prestigious event will bring together global leaders and experts in water management to discuss innovative strategies for addressing water scarcity and climate resilience.

Event Highlights:

  • Reception Dinner: On Sunday, June 1, 2025, a special Reception dinner will be hosted at the iconic Alcazar of Seville, offering a unique opportunity for networking and cultural immersion.
  • Colloquium Program: On Monday, June 2, 2025, the colloquium will start at the Seville Aquarium Auditorium and will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focused on cutting-edge technologies and policies in water reuse, desalination, and sustainable water management.

Focus on Water Challenges
Water scarcity is no longer a future threat but a present reality. Southern Spain, particularly Andalusia, experiences drought cycles, placing unprecedented pressure on agriculture, communities, and ecosystems. New European Union regulations on water reuse, which provide a harmonized framework to encourage the safe and efficient use of reclaimed water, particularly in agriculture, have been adopted in this region. These new standards represent a critical step in addressing water scarcity and building resilience across southern Europe and are an example to be considered in other areas of the world.

The colloquium focuses on best practices for building resilient water solutions and innovative regulations.
