2026 Tianmu Lake New Electrochemical Energy Storage Technology Seminar

2026, the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, marks a historic leap in the strategic importance of new energy storage. During the Two Sessions, new energy storage was explicitly listed as one of the six emerging pillar industries, signifying its formal entry into the core sequence of the national strategic industrial layout. The State Grid Corporation of China and China Southern Power Grid have planned to invest over 5 trillion yuan during the 15th Five-Year Plan period to comprehensively promote the construction of a new power system. As a key supporting technology for solving the intermittency and volatility problems of new energy sources, new energy storage has leaped from an "auxiliary link" in the energy transition process to a "critical infrastructure" ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power system, becoming a strategic cornerstone supporting the national energy transition and the achievement of "dual-carbon" goals.

Meanwhile, with the rapid rise of other emerging pillar industries such as intelligent robots, aerospace, and the low-altitude economy, new requirements have been placed on the flexibility, security, and energy density of energy systems. Novel electrochemical energy storage technologies, with their unique advantages of fast response, flexible deployment, and high energy density, are becoming a core support for meeting diverse application scenarios. In particular, breakthroughs in electrochemical systems such as solid-state batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and flow batteries have not only provided key solutions for new energy consumption but have also become a crucial hub driving the coordinated development of emerging industries such as intelligent equipment and high-end manufacturing, and a key variable reshaping the future competitive landscape of industries.

Against this backdrop, to further promote the innovation and application of novel electrochemical energy storage technologies, the "2026 Tianmu Lake Novel Electrochemical Energy Storage Technology Symposium" will be held in Liyang, China in June 2026. The conference will bring together representatives from government, industry, universities, research institutions, the investment community, and application fields, focusing on the strategic direction and industrialization path of novel electrochemical energy storage technologies during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and helping my country's novel electrochemical energy storage industry achieve high-quality and sustainable development in serving the overall national strategy.
