Energy Storage Summit Latin America (5th Edition)

Leveraging LATAM’s Resources: Energy Storage for System Stability, Supply Chain and Scale
2026-10-27 ~ 2026-10-28 , Santiago

The fourth edition of the Energy Storage Summit Latin America just came to an end in Santiago, Chile, bringing together over 300 industry leaders and innovators from across the energy storage value chain.

The Summit once again served as the meeting place for IPPs and developers, investors, financiers and banks, utilities, consultancies, software providers, and manufacturers who are shaping the future of energy storage across the region.

Chile continued to stand out as the frontrunner for battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Latin America. The country reached a new milestone this year with the largest BESS in the region—located in the Northern Antofagasta region—entering commercial operation. BESS Coya, a co-located project with a solar PV farm, is now capable of storing the equivalent of five hours of electricity, delivering around 200 GWh on average per year.

Discussions also highlighted the growing potential of other markets such as Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Peru, and Colombia. Brazil’s confirmation of its first standalone storage auction for June 2025 and the introduction of new storage incentives across markets like Chile and the Dominican Republic signal strong momentum for the sector.

However, many conversations at the Summit also focused on ongoing regulatory and policy challenges. The lack of consistent frameworks across the region continues to affect investment conditions for large-scale BESS projects, underscoring the importance of collaboration and dialogue among policymakers, investors, and developers.

The 2025 edition of the Energy Storage Summit Latin America provided an essential platform to exchange insights, forge partnerships, and drive forward the development of storage markets across the continent.

Stay tuned for updates on the next edition as we continue to advance Latin America’s energy storage future together.
